London Hospital in 1974. She first joined the Practice in 1979 and returned in 2002 after a four year break to

PRACTICE STAFF
Practice Manager - Richard Brown
The Practice Manager is responsible for the administration of the Practice and would be happy to have your views and suggestions about the services offered by the Practice.
Reception Staff
The receptionists will assist you in making emergency and routine appointments to see your doctor, undertake repeat prescriptions, answer numerous and varied questions and offer help and assistance at all times. It is a legal requirement that confidentiality of patients’ records is maintained at the highest level by all staff. Their job is demanding so please be patient.
Practice Nurses
Our team of five practice nurses are available by appointment. Their numerous tasks include:
• Infant and adult immunisations
• Cervical smears
• Dressings and removal of stitches
• Ear syringing
• Specialised clinics to monitor asthma, diabetes, CHD, blood pressure
and
stroke/TIA
• Taking blood for tests (in particular circumstances)
• New patient checks
• Smoking cessation advice and support
• Weight management clinics
• Open access/triage clinic
Health Care Support Worker (HCSW)
Our health care support worker provides a range of services in support of both the doctors and practice nurses.
These include:
• Taking blood for tests (in particular circumstances)
• New patient checks
• Smoking cessation advice and support
• ECGs
• Blood pressure measurement
Health Visitors
Our health visitors help with childhood
problems from birth through to the age of 16 and perform clinics in our premises.
District Nurses
Our district nurses work as a team within the Gosport area and so may cover for each other at times of illness, holiday and study leave. The district nurses provide care for patients at home with acute, chronic, serious and terminal illness and for those who need post-operative care. They can advise on incontinence and home nursing aids. If you need home nursing care, please ask your doctor.
Midwife
Our midwife is based at Blake Ward, Gosport War Memorial Hospital (telephone
023 9252 3651). She works in a team of Gosport Midwives and a replacement will attend if she is unavailable.
